BURMESE | MACANESE | BALINESE

BURMA, BALI AND MACAU SHARE A UNIQUE INTERSECTION STEEPED IN CULINARY HISTORY.  THROUGH MIGRATION, TRADE ROUTES AND COLONIZATION, BOTH INDIAN AND CHINESE CULTURE HAVE LEFT LASTING FLAVOURS, PLATE-TO-PLATE AND GENERATION-TO-GENERATION.

Once an active volcano located in Burma, Mount Popa has transformed into a sacred site with many temples and relics atop the mountain. We pay tribute to this iconic destination with inspiring dishes that will transport diners through the regional scenery. Popa is a throwback to the old Burmese restaurants of bentwood chairs, high ceilings, and the smell of the tea brewing. We take pride in our use of fresh and healthy ingredients that are locally sourced and prepared with passion. Popa is a contemporary restaurant, which is sleek and stylish. It is a modern take on Burmese traditions and food. The only definitive style is to the diner itself, eating cultural mashups in the best possible sense; from Chinese-style noodles and Indian-style soups and flatbreads to the simple curries, vegetables, and salads made popular in the countryside.
